I"m convinced my brake shoes are stuck to drums, by park brake.can I release them without pulling wheel off.

sorry,1948 Ford 2dr sedan,"hasn't been sitting in that spot more than one month.Had car in storage for winter at old hanger, drove car to my uncles where it sat for month . and when ready to bring to my home,won"t move.

To check if your drums are stuck raise the vehicle at the center section to clear both rear tires and place jack stands under the axle to keep it from falling off the center section. Since your 48 is not a locked differential, you should be able to turn one rear wheel and the other will turn in the opposite direction. If you cannot turn a wheel, your brakes are locked. I know this next step is somewhat silly, but then check if the emergency cable is loose on both sides. If the cable is tight, loosening this cable is the only way I know of to unlock the brakes without removing the drums because I never heard of hydraulic pressure keeping the brakes locked over a long time frame. If the emergency cable is froze in its sheaf, take out the clevis pin on the equalizer bracket to loosen the cable.
