Hello, So Im still sorting this 40 convertible I bought in Dec and greatly appreciate this forum/resource, info has been plentiful and Legit! Top cylinders ( Vacuum operated) have the flex hoses from the lines running under the drivers side removed. Top goes up and down quite easily by hand, but I would like to make things "right" I am assuming the cork Gaskets in the cylinders are just dry rotted, or the cylinders are scored. Don't have any idea why they would be disconnected otherwise. Anyone I have tried for rebuild parts wants to sell me Hydraulic cylinders...but I see no reason to go there. Car does have a new top, maybe the staller just disconnected so he/she could raise and lower top without engine running. I guess that's a possibility. Anyone know where cylinder rebuilding parts can be sourced? Thanks,

connect everything and see if it works. If it doesn't go from there.
