Topic: Richmond, Ca Ford Assembly Plant

This last weekend, my wife, son and I visited the old Ford plant in Richmond, Ca. It has many business' set up in the building, and the old Oil Storage building is now the Rosie the Riveter Museum. I was excited to see the building as my 1951 F-1 was assembled there. My question is: has there ever been a reunion car show at the old plant? I bet the park service would even get on board, and support a show. It is part of the history of the plant after all!

Packard Club has meets at the old Packard Proving grounds in Shelby Twp., MI. I remember as a ten driving around the high speed oval in my Mustang convertible back in the 70's before they developed much of the land. Some of the old building are still there along with the house that served as a general meeting place for Packard executives.

Today I attended a car show at the GM Tech Center in Warren. More than 700 cars showed up but I was the only woodie (48 Ford). Eisenhower opened the Tech Center in 1956 and it was a huge deal since it marked a first for GM outside of Detroit. Warren was simply farm fields.
