Topic: 53 Ranch Wagon

Just picked up a 1953 Ranch Wagon, with no rear brake drums. I can't find them anywhere. Are they supposed to be 11 x 1 3/4, and if so would the ford truck brake drum work? All the ones I look up say except for wagon. Tried MACs and Dennis C, with no luck. Thanks

The front and rear brake drums on the '53 station wagons and sedan deliveries are 11" diameter. The wagons and deliveries use the same rear axle as the 1/2 ton pickups of the same year. The rear brakes on the wagons use wheel cylinders with 15/16" diameter. Hope this information helps.

Tommy, a company called Master Power Brakes, 888-251-2353, www.mpbrakes.com, had brake drums for an 8' Ford rear I was working on. All they do is brakes.

Thanks for the info...just seems odd that I can't just look up brake drums for my car, and have the info show up.
