I am confussed with all the different forums about the V8 flathead head No 40-6050A. 1. In know the head is for a 1933-1934. It cast iron. And is the aluminum 40-6050-A2 an aftermarket head or produced in Canada ?

I'm not familiar with the 'A' or 'A2' designations as my original '34 with aluminum heads does not have them. Maybe its just a Canadian thing for those letter designations. From what I recall, the cast iron heads were used on the truck engines for the '33-'34 model years....

When introduced in Dec of 1932 the aluminum head carried part # 40-6049/50 In April of 1934 a newly designed cast iron head was introduced in addition to the Alum alloy head. The cast iron head carried part # 40-6049/50-B and the aluminum heads part number was changed to 40-6049/50-A In mid 1935 a second design aluminum head was introduced and it carried part # 40-6049/50-A2 and the original -A design head was changed to -A1.
