my '39 has an aluminum radiator in it that was put in before i bought it. it's sitting on kind of an angle and i want to straighten it out some. my question is how much space should there be between the fan and radiator ? thank you.

Fan should be as close as possible to the radiator for maximum efficiency. This assumes that there is no shroud on your non-stock radiator. Consider the normal movement of the engine during operation also. Alan
