  Agree with Ken.

Recently put a set of Champion D21 plugs into our '36. Work great.

The '36 Ford replys would be referring to a different plug or at least plug size if original engine. I have succeesfully used the NGK plug in 59 engine as originally post asked .I had problems with Champions as made today and also Autolites but NGK have held up last 8 years for me. Better replies may be from some posters who have the same engine 59 AB and put lots of miles on their vehicles like Old Henry or others.

I have NGK B4L plugs in my 8-BA and have had better luck with them than Champions. Also the Autolite 216 was better also.

The cross reference for the Champion H10 to NGK is B6L. The B4L is a slightly hotter plug, designed for slow speed driving and should work fine in a 59A engine.

Here is a link to NGK's explanation of heat range.

Yes 36 plugs are 18 mm and 59 plugs are 14 mm I know that and the NGK's were n/g on this engine.. I do use ngk's in my motor cycle and work ok , go figure ??? ken ct.

Tom O you are correct.I knew I was using an NGK plug but had to look to see they are the B6L ones.

My 59AB has been running on a set of Champion H11's for many years. They burn clean given the type of driving I do.

I have been using the B6L NGK plugs for 5 or 6 years. Still using the same plugs I put in.
