How to remove horn ring at steering wheel, and instructions to replace horn wire on my 1941 for coupe super deluxe please john

Disconnect the battery. Disconnect the horn wire at the bullet connection at the bottom of the steering box. Remove the horn button by pressing down on the center of the horn ring and turning it counterclockwise. Remove the spring and horn wire from the steering tube from the top. Fred Killian

Make sure that you do not put any pressure on the horn ring. The 41 ring is known to be fragile. When blowing the horn only use the thick side bars. Tom

Thank you all for the input, especially the directions of removing wire and horn ring fraigility feel more confident after reading all the advice. You guys are the best for helping us new to flatheads. Thks again very much. John

Found problem I believe, relay shot, got new one at napa, installed today. The main wire looked very good fron previous owner new harness. I thought wire looked too good to be bad so I concentrated on horn ring finally relay was sticking. Thanks for everyone's assistance john
