Hello all. I have a question concerning my 1939 Deluxe Tudor. It is stock and I plan to keep it that way. The ignition coil is a Skip Haney rebuild and is working fine. However, I have purchased an ignition coil conversion kit and round coil in case I have trouble on the road. The supplier's part number for the coil is 8BA-12029. Do I need to use my stock resistor with this coil or should I bypass it? I have received conflicting information from the supplier. Thanks. Larry

The round coil should have a resister inside, so if you use it, bypass the resister under the dash. Tom

Larry, In the event of problems on the road, the likelihood of Skip's coil being the problem is pretty remote. Instead of carrying that coil conversion, I would carry a spare condenser (Eichlen IH 200) because the new condensers these days are not up to the standard that they once were. Stay away from NOS condensers as they have had decades of drying up on the shelf and most will fail when they get hot. Ken
