Well, I got the door latch to work and it works great. Now the key lock will not lock the outside door handle. It turns almost all the way, the last 1/4 turn won't go any further. I can lock it with the inside door handle, but not with the key. Can't unlock it either.

You could remove the key lock cylinder and turn the female square drive with a screwdriver from one extreme to another. Make sure the drive locks and unlocks the door. Then return the drive to the CENTER of operation and replace the lock cylinder. Make sure the lock cylinder has enough range of movement both ways so it can lock and unlock. This could cure the problem or expose the cylinder as the problem area. Check the key cylinder to make sure the code is proper for a 36. The key lock cylinder codes are listed in the restoration book. I believe the earlier 34 door lock cylinders may not have as much range of movement as the later 35-36 but both have the same outward appearance.
