  Clean the area really well and note the the pin is a larger diameter on one end. Using a small drift with a flat end is comes out easily. Be sure to support the shaft so you don't bend it. Same goes for reinstalling it.

  I do it on a vice with the wife holding the carb , usually driven out from the underside and comes out the top. Hold carb upside -down with the end of shaft collar resting between the slightly open vice jaws enough for the pin to slip through and catch it when it comes out. Do not lose the pin as its not avalible and its tapered. Goes back in from the top. Do not drive all the way back in so you will have a little depression where the drift must go to remove in the future. ken ct.

  Its driven out from the bottom it comes out the top. Use a drift not a pointed punch. Use a 3/32 " drift is the correct size. Should be available good hardware store or Sears tool dept. ken ct.
