I have a 41 Ford Special Tudor sedan. The grilles I pulled off of it were stamped steel not the cast like I have normally seen. I have been told the stamped steel grille was factory on the Specials. Can anyone verify if this is true? I can only post one picture it seems. This is the car when I bought it in 1995.

Center "Ford". The reason for the question is that I don't want to pay to have the center grille restored and re-chromed if it isn't OE. Thanks.

The parts catalog only shows 1 center grill for all 1941 cars. It shows different side grills for the Super Deluxe. The Super Deluxe had all 3 grills chrome plated and the Special and Deluxe had the side grills painted. Tom

Tom is correct that the center grille part number 11A-8206-A was used on the Super Deluxe, Deluxe and Special,8 cylinder or 6 cylinder all use the same center grille. I believe that the stamped steel grille is aftermarket. I have pictures of a stamped steel grille just like yours only in worst shape. I showed the pictures to Dan Krehbiel last year and he also thought they were aftermarket. Fred Killian

Thanks for the replies. I was thinking it may be original because of the "Ford" stamped into it. I'm surprised they were able to do that being aftermarket. Better not pay to have this one restored. Thanks, Bob
