Bought 4 wiring harnesses between 10 and 30 years ago. have decided to put one on my 38 4 door standard and do not know how to identify them. 1 is black with red dashes on it, steering box to tail lite,,,1 is black with yellow dashes same as one above,,1 is black and goes from steering box to front only,,1 is black with yellow dashes and goes from steering box to front only. Can anyone help me out? Thank you bob

Thanks for the reply Charlie. I was referring to the outside cloth loom that covers the wires inside of it. I have copies of the wiring diagrams from the Green parts book, service bulletins and other ford publications. I am going to install one and see if I can figure it out. thanks again, Bob

The colors that you gave were used on many years. The dash harness on my 40 mercury has a black covering with red dashes and the other 3 harnesses have just black covering. Tom

THANKS, jUST PUT ONE ON THAT I HAD AND IT DOESN'T APPEAR TO BE THE CORRECT ONE. THE HEADLITE WIRES AREN'T LONG ENOUGH TO REACH PASSENGER SIDE. JUST BOUGHT A CORRECT ONE? ON EBAY. RIGHT PART NUMBER FOR A 38 BUT WE WILL SEE. THANKS AGAIN FOR RESPONSE BOB

Hey Bob - any reason you are typing in ALL CAPS? Noticed it here and on another post of yours - much easier for my eyes anyway to read if in lower case with CAPS used for emphasis only. Fwiw - Steve
