can anyone identify this horn? outside, it looks like a '36 but the mechanism inside is quite different. maybe an after market replacement mechanism?

Not a mystery horn -- just a replacement horn. I purchased about 6 horns a couple of years ago, and all Ford Sparton horns, and when I took the covers off --- some had the vibrator and capacitors and some had the sealed mechanism, like yours.
