My 41 ford fordor is almost finished. Thanks for all the help I have gotton here. Here is my current problem but it a little away from the usual cars and trucks on here. I have an 81 ford courier pickup that is blowing the regulator fuse. A short somewhere. I have unpluged the alt, regulator and changed out the ignition. Ihave taken all fuses out of the fuse box all of which still leads to a blownregulator fuse. I ran a new jumper wire from the ignition switch to the fuse box and the fuse still blew out. Sounds like a bad alternator or a main wire in the system that is going to ground. Did you replace the wire from the regulator to the alternator? Remove the alternator and take it to a parts store that can test it.

The alterantor checked good. Ford courier site is under updating and not much help. I did find a short in a plug in connection near the battery. The fuse is now good but my volt gauge does not register anything. I am thinking maybe now the ignition module might be bad. Thanks.
