Literally just stumbled across a somewhat local source here in very rural NC with an operational Ford Heyer (with Allen) machine complete with the still-active 80-year old owner who knows how to run it (was setting-up a '42 distributor when I walked in). I am not familiar with this versus a Sun but understand the Heyers were the standard Ford in-shop go-to back in the day - are the Heyer and Sun tit-for-tat in terms of setting up and optimizing our distributors? Apparently the Heyer machine sets dwell based on percent dwell (I guess as Ford did it in the '40's?). Also, assume $60 for a set of NOS points, new vac brake leather and complete set-up while I watch and wait sounds reasonable - ? Or just too good to be true? Crusty fellow seems to be the real deal... Needless to say this is not an internet service provider. Thanks - Steve This message was edited by len47merc on 2-29-16 @ 2:51 PM

Either machine will do the job. You did very well in getting the point and having them installed. Make sure that you keep this guy as a friend. Tom
