Topic: Where is the drain plug on the block located?

I have looked every where on my 1950 v8 for the block drain plug and I can not find it. I know it should be obvious, but I can't find it. Where is it located?

thanks

I'm more familiar with the earlier blocks, but if your 8BA block is the same, there will be two plugs, one each side on the bottom near the radiator hoses.

This might explain why I could not find it. I was looking at the side of the block. I will look at the front of the block tomorrow.

Thanks Alan

maybe all 8BA blocks are not the same, but the ones I have don't have any block drains. There is a small hole from the coolant cavities that will drain the block through the water pump lower hose connection and drain with the radiator. However, they will fill up with rust flakes and other debris making the drain process slow or impossible.

My very original 1949, with a 8BA motor does not have drain plugs in the block.
The only drain is the twist one on the bottom tank of the radiator.

I have never seen block drains on any 8BA that I have worked on and always drained the block via the radiator drain.
