Topic: FOFB cylinder heads

Need some help identifying the cylinder heads on my V8 34 Ford pickup truck...cast in the iron are the initials FOFB and the date of 3-19-42. The heads do not say Ford.

Anyone know what the initials stand for and who may have sold these?

The 34 Pickup came with aluminum heads, without Ford script and numbered 40-6049 and 40-6050. It was common for replacement heads to be made in cast iron, for the aluminum ones, and carry a casting dates long after the production of the 1934 cars and pickups. Many of the replacement heads were produced by aftermarket companies.
The larger BB trucks for 34 where often retrofitted with the V8 engines, even as new vehicles, they all used cast iron heads.
If you are building a 34 Pickup for show or judging, I suggest buying the Early For V8 Club of America's
1933-34 FORD Book, Restoration Manual. $50.00 on this web site.
I have now replaced all my aluminum heads with the cast iron replacements, often with later dates. I blast them and paint them with aluminum color engine paint.
But, I don't do judged shows, mine have always been drivers. (Even though my Phaeton was the best of the 200 I've seen in my lifetime. (Driving is my Throphy)
