What is the torque for the oil pan bolts on a 59 AB ?
After a rebuild the front main seal is leaking.

Assuming you've already tried the search function on this forum and the Ford Barn, try the Van Pelt web site: http://www.vanpeltsales.com/

The rope front main seals frequently leak, even when properly installed.

Use the full circle type front seal. Install the seal on the crankshaft, replace the timing cover and then the pulley.

Thanks, Tom. I did not do the rebuild. If it still leaks after I re-torque then it will go back to him.

If you over torque the bolts you will bend the pan between the bolts and have a leak. BEFORE you touch the engine ask the person that rebuilt the engine what the correct torque should be and if he would like to do it, otherwise you own the problem what ever it may be.
