I have a 41 PU came with a new fuel tank (Bob Drake).I thought the fuel out fitting was 1/4" pipe thread but it would only take a thread and maybe 1/2.A no , no. I don't force things . now it looks like a compression fitting?? Can anyone tell me what fitting would solve the question,(problem)??? regards tp

Most likely a "ford" nut. 1/2x20 like the carb fitting. Used with a ferrel. I have brand new ones if you cant find one. Or cut one off an old carb to fuel pump line and get a 1/4" ferrel at a local hardware store about $ .25 cents. ken ct.
