Hi guys. It s been a while since I got you up to date with the Mercury woes so I want to fill you in. I'm still making headway and it's been interesting. After replacing the old gas with fresh 89 octane and replacing the fouled plugs with NGK I got the motor running but not very well and the NGKs got fouled too. I found a discussion on the ford barn about adjusting and syncronizing the dual carbs with a "uni-sync" tool with all the details and preparations required to use it correctly so I am into that now. Will keep you posted. Thanks for all your inputs...I'm sure it helped as well. Jeff

Check your fuel pressure 2 to 2-1/2# What are the jet sizes in the Carb and what power valves? Having problems using the Uni-syn?
