  On a '48, how do you remove the shift levers from the column? After disconnecting the clevis rods and column bracket, I can slide the assembly down the column a half inch but not remove it. Hidden fastener?

  There is a steel pin between the two arms, it will prevent the arms from coming off. Can you remove the bottom of the bracket and the lower arm then reinstall the bracket and push up until the pin is revealed and removed (slides into place) The pin is what selects which arm to move when the shifter is put into the Neutral position.
