I am trying to paint the wheels on a 1933 Tudor in the "correct" aurora red. The car was made in Sept. 1933 so according to the restoration manual it should have aurora red wheels and a vermilion red pin stripe. The local RM paint store came up with a formula and I had them mix a small quantity to paint a test piece. It turned out to be considerably darker than the stripe color. RM seems to be the only paint company that has any info on aurora red. All the pictures that I have seen on these cars seem to have wheels that are a very bright red. Any information that anyone can provide will be very much appreciated. Thanks!
