I am replacing my fuel line on my 40. Along the frame rail what is/are the correct fasteners? Thanks

There should be clips along the left frame rail. II say "should" as age has taken them away, in many cases. When I replaced the fuel line in my '47 I used plastic cable ties to secure the line, using existing holes in the rail

  Ken,
The fuel line was held to the frame in four places. One was above the rear cross member, the other three along the left frame rail. The clips can be purchased from Roy Nacewicz.
The clip at the cross member required a hex head bolt, 5/16 fine thread, a lock washer and hex nut. The three clips along the frame utilized the bolts attaching the running board to the frame.

Hope this helps.
Mike

Hi Mike, As for your help? It sure does. I did not think that the spring steel clips for wiring at the frame was the correct clips. The clip on the cross member on my car is still in place. The others are not there anymore. Thanks Folks for all of the input. Ken Burke
