I’ve attached a couple photos of the glove box and dash frame and wondering if I am missing a piece? The car was apart when I bought it. Thanks for your help!

Can't really tell from your second picture. There should be a tab with a hole on either side of the bottom dash reinforce piece spaced to match your glove box door hinge. See photos below This message was edited by juergen on 8-5-15 @ 11:09 AM

Jerry Yes, the tabs are there and I see how it works. Thanks

Still piecing this together. When installed, the door has quite a bit of side to side freeplay (1/8 or so)...should I try to bend the tabs or install a filler on the spring wire?

try to figure out if one or both of either the door hinge or the dash brackets are slightly bent and correct. 1/8" is too much movement, but the door should move freely without binding. about 1/32" free play This message was edited by 40 Coupe on 8-7-15 @ 8:59 AM

will do...what does the spring loaded button latch to? Is there a clip on the actual glove box? Right now the door simply hangs open... Thanks for your help.

The spring loaded ball on the door latches the door closed to a metal clip mounted to the top of the glove box (comes in a kit including the rubber bumper for the door). There is also a reinforcement metal plate that should come with the new hard board glove box it mounts above and outside the glove box.
