porkchop, check with Jamco Suspension(www.jamcosuspension.com) or Fatman Fabrications(www.fatmanfab.com). Both of these companies have alternative steering gears for the shoebox Ford. The most common alternative is the use of the Volvo 140 box.

porkchop, check this website (www.butchscoolstuff.com). He has brackets that can be used to adapt 70's Ford pickup power steering to a 52.

We ere asked by a handicapped customer to find and install power steering in his '57 Ranch Wagon. We searched our list of sources, but didn't come up with a suitable set up that wasn't extensive and costly. We considered a power rack and pinion and other approaches, so we will be interest to see if you can find a way.
