Topic: 1948 H-series 6-cylinder accelerator linkage

rdove    -- 07-18-2015 @ 4:48 PM
Does anybody out there have a picture of 1948 H-series 6-cylinder accelerator linkage in a 2 door sedan? I need a picture of the linkage at the intake manifold. Thanks in advance.

They used a rod type as did the V8's but don't know if its the same length. The "H" engine used a cable type arrangement to the choke only. ken ct.I have 6 cyl rebuilt carbs and parts thereof if you need any. ken ct

I need the arms that are attached to the intake manifold if you have them. I think they are held in place by a cotter pin.

Do you have a Green Bible pg. 426 shows parts do you mean # iga-9584 or #iga- 9518. These I have though they are not attached to the manifold ,their part of the carb. Ken ct. call 1-203-260-5945 cell.

The closest picture I can find in the Green Bible is on page 399. It shows a G-series 6 cyl. linkage. Part # 9724. The parts I need are not attached to the carb. I've attached a picture. The linkage I need are toward to bottom left of the picture.

I just might have this part. I have an old 6cyl engine in my boneyard that looks a lot like this. It came out of a 46 model. let me know. Gene

  Gene,
According to the Green Bible, they were the same from 41-48 on all 6 cylinders. If the one you have is in good shape, I would be interested. The one I have is slightly bent.

Thanks Gene, but it sounds about like the one I have. If I can't find one in better shape I will get back in touch with you.

Why not try and straighten out the one you have. Heat a vice and a small ball peen hammer works wonders for them. Ive fixed many V8 ones using this method. ken ct.

Thanks Ken, I will probably have to give that a try.
