Topic: 2015 Central National Meet.........

nelsb01    -- 07-14-2015 @ 7:56 AM
As you may have heard, the 2015 Central National Meet at CRAGUN'S in Brainerd MN, lasted about 19 hours.
The storm was unbelievable. You have seen the pictures elsewhere -- but here is one you have not seen.
Yes, that is the Tornado Warning Siren -- blown from the roof of CRAGUN'S. That was found below the main building on Monday.
We want to thank all those that traveled so far to be with us -- we are sorry that our time together was so short. If you registered, watch for email message coming soon.

Bruce & Pat -- co-chairs

I haven't heard anything about this? Where can I go to read about what happened? Where can I see more pictures?

And we should tip our hats and give pats on the back to the CRAGUN'S crew. Never seen such hard workers -- and also to others who asked how they could help. We had members raking, sweeping, and lifting. One thing for sure, CRAGUN'S wont be needing fire wood until about 2017.

To read more about the storm, Google "Brainerd, MN storm damage". You will be able to see some very awesome photos.

The people at Craguns were very nice and helpful. Bruce did a great job of trying to keep everyone informed.

I was one of the lucky ones and my car sustained no damage.

I was impressed with the number of flashlight that were turned on when the lights went out. They were followed by all of the cell phones with their lights.

It is too bad that the meet had to be cancelled as there were many very nice cars to see and the Twin Cities Group worked very hard to see that we would have a good time.

Go to Fordbarn for many pictures of the meet. This site is not as user friendly. Have to sign in every time and picture posting is slow. Sure wish they would make changes here.

This is in the area where no cars were damaged, but the power lines and trees were down.

Sowing the damage to one of the Mercs. This one received less damage than the other one, but it is still a disaster. I hope that it can be brought back to its original condition.

I don't think that this one can be saved. Other photos show more damage.

I hope everyone that had damage to there car had insurance to cover the car or truck. From the looks it could have been a lot worse then it was. Glad no one was hurt. One never knows what tomorrow will bring.

This is the lane in and out of the resort. This was nearly impossible to walk around late Sunday night.
Hopefully the photo is attached

This is some of Cragun's staff cleaning up Monday morning. There really was a road under all those trees.

My pickup got remodeled. I drove it home no problem and my 37 and trailer were fine, other than dents in roof of trailer.

I did need a hand to get my truck out tho

I arrived home last night at ~ 8:30 pm, and so happy to be back safely. My heart goes out to those folks who had damage to their old cars/trucks and tow rigs. Also for Bruce, Pat, and everyone else in their RG who worked so hard to put this meet together only to have it end/cancelled early like this. Looking at the positive side, I am so happy that no one was injured.
I will be posting all of my pictures later today, probably on Fordbarn rather than here, only because it is easier for me to post them there.
