The original wooden floorboard to my '34 Fordor had a layer of ply missing at the lower passenger side. I repaired the area by fitting and gluing down a piece of 1/16 ply. My plan is to sand the whole piece down and stain it. What color stain would you recommend?...Is there a "proper" color stain? Cheers!!

Ford floorboards were stained a semi flat black. I use some cheap black enamel and thin it so it soaks into the wood.
