Hello all. My 1939 Deluxe Tudor has the crank out windshield and it leaks slightly at the top center. Is it possible to adjust the fit and hopefully eliminate the leak? I removed part of the interior molding but could not see how the windshield is hinged or mounted. It appears I would have to detach the headliner and I was reluctant to do that unless I was sure there was an adjustment and that I could re-attach the headliner. I believe the windshield gasket is in good condition. Thanks. Larry

You do have to pull the headliner to get to the hinges. You can make some adjustments with the hinges. Also make sure the lower drains in the bottom corners of the windshield opening are clean. Those drains have a rubber tube on the bottom and the tube drains down into the cowl. Ford put them in the body as they knew the windshield would leak.

You will never stop the leaking. They leaked right from the factory. When I bought my 39 Standard, the windshield was caulked shut. I remounted the windshield with all new rubber and adjusted it to the best of my ability. It still leaks, so when I go to shows I always carry a roll of blue masking tape incase it rains. I tape it all around to avoid a flood on my new replacement floors. Im pretty sure that if you did find a way to get the windshield watertight , it might not be too visually appealing. Good Luck...
