Topic: Set float, wet or dry?

Regarding a Stromberg 97, the rebuild instructions for setting the float recommend a dry setting, where the carb is turned upside down and the float should then hang with the edge being level with the edge of the carb body.
Others recommend setting the float, "wet" (while the car is running), and the fuel level should measure 15/32" from the top of the fuel bowl without a gasket.
So which instruction is correct?

If you go to the Stromberg web site you can find this info. When dry, the top edge of the float should be approximately 13/32 to 15/32 down on the free end of the float. The Carb doesn't have to be upside down you can gently press on the float tab near the input valve and the float will pivot (valve in place). When your done setting make sure the tab does not contact anything (except the input valve) before assembly.
The setting does not have to be done wet, but it can be, as an alternative.

Thanks for the reply. I got the instructions for setting it dry (hang upside down etc.)from Stromberg in their rebuild kit and at their web site. I'll go to their web site again and look for more. Thanks again.
