Topic: Request: '37 Ford Sedan for TV show (Bay Area)

  Hello everyone,

My name is Rob English. I’m new to the forums, and I wanted to introduce myself and ask for help. I’m a story producer for a production company in the Bay Area, California. I’m reaching out in hopes of finding a ’37 Ford Sedan (or similar model) for one of our shows.

We’re filming a TV show about the real-life people who inspired characters from famous horror films. These people drove cars iconic to their time. For instance, Ed Gein – the inspiration for Psycho – drove a ’37 Ford Sedan. We’d like to stay as true to the story as possible, but we’re having difficulty locating cars, and I figured this forum would be a good place to ask.

We need a ’37 Ford Sedan (or similar model) for a few scenes (1-2 days) in the next month or so. The car won’t be used for any stunts. For almost all shots, it will be part of a background shot, and parked. There’s one scene where we might to show the car driving down a road, but that’s it. Nothing fancy.

If any of you live near the Bay Area, would you be interested in working with us? We’re open to discussing terms, insurance policies, and any questions you might have. You can absolutely stay on-set to supervise. You’ll have your name in the credits, and your car will be showcased on TV.

Please let me know if this interests anyone. You can email me at renglish@hoff.tv.

Thank you for your time.

-Rob

A little more information about yourself please. What is the name of the production company you are affiliated with? Do you or the company have a website? Where in the Bay Area are you located? There are an untold wealth of car clubs in the Bay Area you could solicit for cars. I know of several '37 Sedans in the Bay Area that would meet your needs but I hesitate to give out that information on this forum or to your personal email address given the lack of knowledge about you and your company. What are your Credentials, please?

  Hey MG,

I totally understand your hesitations, and I'm happy to tell you more about myself and the company.

I'm a story producer at Hoff Productions -- here's a link to our website:

http://www.mhptv.com/

We're located in Emeryville, CA, but also have offices in Los Angeles and Washington DC. We produce content for non-fiction TV networks, and most often work with National Geographic, Discovery, Science, and the History Channel. We have two shows currently airing -- 'What Could Possibly Go Wrong?' and 'Animals Gone Wild'. You can see some of our past work here:

Please let me know how else I can help. I'm limited in what I can say about our current project due to legal reasons, but I'm happy to discuss anything else that you'd like clarified.

All the best,
Rob

Rob send me a private message (click on the words "send pm") in the upper right hand corner of my message. I can put you in touch with one of our club members who has a nice old original 37 sedan. He lives just north of Santa Rosa ,Ca.
