Topic: 1937 valance panel?

  Hello,
Not sure what the correct name is, but the part that I have a question about is the front overhead panel to which the visors mount.

Question: is this panel unique to 1937? or is there one from another year that I can use in order to keep my sedan delivery stock?

Thanks,
Gregg

Your question is very hard to answer, unless someone has restored the 37 Panel Delivery.

The trim colors and patterns were changed between years and that gave the part a new part number, so the Body Parts Catalog may not work.

I would check with the V-8 Club's 37 Adviser to see if he can give you some guidance.

I have a 1937 Ford Body Parts list book,Form 7572 printed in June 1938. I think the part you are referring to is called the windshield header panel and I can tell you that my book list the same number for closed cars and the sedan delivery. It is 78-701418,I think that is what they are referring to in the book. It should not be tough to find if you are missing this panel I see them on Ebay from time to time. I cannot seem to find my 1938-1939 Ford body parts book to see if this same panel stayed with the #78 prefix, meaning it would be the same 1937 through 1938 and mayby 1939,assuming a panel was still used with top mounted wipers these years.

Great, that makes total sense to me. I will keep an eye out for a coupe one.

Hi I have attached a photo showing the 37 Ford windshield header panel part number 78 701418 it is a one year only part, I have also included in the same photo the windshield header panel wiper motor covers for a 37 Ford panel, pickup or truck I do not know the part number. The covers are also a one year only part, I hope this helps.

I would suggest that you call Roy Nacewicz for an answer. He has restored a '37 sedan delivery (and a '32 sedan delivery).
