I have a new aluminum radiator for my 50 ford. the radiator is rated 16 _ 18 PSI. Should I use a 16 lb cap or the 7 lb cap that the 50 ford calls for?

I would say go for it but for your original heater core. You don't need that much pressure anyway. Alan

I would stay with the 7 lb cap or less. Your water pumps might start leaking at anything higher.
