  Hey gang
I have a 36 ford humpback with a mounted spare tire,
my problem is, after I drop the small hubcap, then
what? I dont see any nuts or bolts to remove the
tire. I haven't yet remove the steel ring. So whats
next after that?
thanks to all who answer
Hal

On a '36 the lug nuts should be in plain sight when you pull the hubcap. Could you possobly have the eariler wire wheel? In that case, the lug nuts would be inside the wheel. look inside the hole when you pull the cap, you'll see them. If you are talking about the beauty ring, it has nothing to do with the lug nuts.

  Hi Cliftford,
After looking behind the spare tire I noticed an
" A " frame that mounts the tire to the trunk.I see 3 bolts,
( one on each corner of the "A" frame ) I think if
I remove the beauty ring, the round tire cover tire
cover should come off, exposing the lug nuts. Will
see. Hal

Hello Hal, now I understand your problem. I wasn't thinking about the spare having a cover. As you say take off the ring around the tire, then the round cover and ala! there they are.

Not sure if I fully understand your question .......... our '36 has a locked spare tire ........... see photo ......... after unlocking, the cylinder pops out allowing removal of the painted ring and cover plate ......... then the nuts can be undone to take off the mounted spare.

  Thanks Grant
My 36 has that spare tire lock missing,so
all I have to do is remove the ring and cover
exposing the lug nuts. Thanks again Grant
Hal

PS. Wonder where I could pick
one of those locks?
