Topic: 1940 Ford coupe front arm rest installation

I have a 1940 standard coupe that I am updating the interior with a Lebaron Bonny interor kit and have new Bob Drake reproduction (28-48) fron arm rests. The car di not have any interior panels before so I have no reference points I did buy pre-cut interior card boards from LeBB but I am not sure how the arms attach to the door. Do the metal clips provided hook over the door cards to metal slots or screw onto the card boards or?? Pictures of an installation would help a lot.
Thank you

yes the hooked brace does fit over the inner metal door structure and add support. Pictured is an original (NOT 1940) arm rest ripped out of the door panel. Remains of the door panel in place.

Perhaps it is not important to you but just by chance if it is... the '40 so called "standard" coupe (properly termed the ("Ford V8")did not have arm rests.

I believe my '40 Deluxe coupe came with only one arm rest. It still had the original interior when I got it in 1970. We installed the second arm rest when the door panels were replaced in 1984. I can't remember which side had the original arm rest.

You recall correctly! The driver side (left) of all deluxe coupes had an arm rest.

Thanks Kubes should have asked you first, I just want a pair of arm rests so they balance out the interior
