  Hi
I am replacing my (tailpan/rollpan) sheetmetal under the trunk lid on my 1941 ford coupe .I believe that the 41-48's were pretty much the same. I need a picture or pictures of where the new pan should mount up to on the trunk latch in the center of the trunk. There was a fiberglass one in there and nothing was mounted to it.Any help I can get will be very much appreciated.

Thanks
Joe

Hi Joe, There is a difference between 41 and 48 pans. 47 and 48 did not have a tool box area that rolls under the back. It is short and only goes to the pan between trunk an bumper. 41 and 42 and I think 46 had a rolled pan that went almost to the gas tank and had a well where tools, jack, and jack handle could be kept. Northern (see ad in Hemmings Ford section) makes a repro that, with a little work, will fit your need. If you have more questions, I'll try to help. 42oink.

Its me again. Update from my last comment. EMS is the company I got my pan from and it has the weather seal channel at the top and goes all the way under as original. The bracket that goes from the trunk floor to the pan and holds the trunk latch can be easily replicated and added after pan is in. EMS pan was under a hundred dollars and fit well. Hope this helps. Keep in touch. I'd be interested in how you make out.
