Last Friday did a 497 mile 16 hour road trip on the pony express trail across the west desert of Utah. Here's the story with pictures and video on the Ford Barn for anyone interested: http://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=166241

Wonderful pictures, story and memories! A real tribute to your dad, the $100 car and the common thread that runs through us all. Thanks for sharing.

  Henry,

I'd like to know about the video camera you use - Brand, Model and cost. How do you mount it while driving? Do you charge it with the cars electrical system - 6 volts? Your videos are awesome!

My camera is a simple Sony DSC-WX350 18 MP 20X zoom point and shoot available from Amazon for $229.00 here: http://www.amazon.com/Sony-WX350-Digital-Camera-Black/dp/B00I8BIB1S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1429143970&sr=8-1&keywords=dsc-wx350%2Fw I chose that one over others after some research because of it's superior video quality. I mount the camera on a monopod that just sits on the floor braced against the dashboard by one hand so that I can pivot it around if needed. Steering is with steering knob. I leave the camera on the monopod for outside shots stabilized by just extending the leg. And, leaving it on for outside moving video shots gives the camera more mass to help keep it level while walking. Attached is a picture of the mounting.

But, none of the photos or videos I show are as they come out of the camera. The photos are enhanced with Photoshop and the videos are made with Cyberlink Power Director 13 with which I can also enhance the video.

I tried charging the camera with a 12 volt adapter in an auxiliary lighter socket hooked up to 6 volt but it wasn't enough. I have a standard 12 volt jump starter with a USB socket on it that I sit on the front floor to charge the camera, iPhone, and MP3 player.
