Topic: Ground location '50 Deluxe

Where is the ground from the battery located on the engine on a '50 Deluxe V-8? The ground cable on my car was under a head bolt. It did not appear to be a proper way to connect the cable. What style of ground cable is used? Is it a braided cable? Thanks in advance.

According to the 1949-1951 Ford Book that the Club publishes -- the braided ground strap was 23 inches long. This ground strap was mounted to the left cylinder head 90 degrees to the center line of the car and left the mounting bolt in a direction heading underneath the battery.
I will also tell you that my 1949 Ford has a smaller braided strap that mounts to the center of firewall on one end and a intake manifold bolt on the other.

Hope this helps. Purchasing the 1949-1951 Ford Book might be a good investment.
