Topic: Tail Lights on 1941 Ford

The Standard model Ford V8's from 1932 through 1940 only came from the Factory equipped with a Single Taillight on the Drivers Side. The same was true on RHD models sold in Australia where the single Taillight was fitted to the opposite side than the LHD Models. My question is:- Did the base model 1941 Fords come with a Single Taillight, or did they all receive Twin Taillights. If so, that would be the first year that both Taillights were fitted to a standard model.

The base model in 41 was called a special (very sparton )in appearance. 1 sunviser inside black trim and even a black tail-lite (not chrome) and I believe only 1 of them. I could be wrong on that. There was 1 local one a few yrs back and I remember it well. ken ct.

Hi Ken, I thought that I had seen only one Tail Light on the 1941 Ford Special. This must be the last year of the Single Tail Light on Fords? The reason that I asked this question is that I am writing a story for our local V8 Club Magazine. I have pictures of various 1940 Ford Standards with the single Tail Light, but none for the 1941 models. Thanks for your help.

Page 1-5 of the 1941-48 Ford book shows a picture of a 41 Special Series Coupe with a single tail light.
