Topic: 1941 Ford Grilles & Hello!

  Hello All!
My name is Carl Urbaniak, I am from Milwaukee, WI. I am new to this board & this site, but NOT new to the Early V8 Ford Club as I have been an on again off again member for the last 6 years or so.

I have a question for you folks regarding the 1941 Ford Center Grille.... was this section of the grille (from the factory) cast & chromed only or was it offered as a stainless version as well (from the factory, new)?
Simply put, how did Ford offer the car new? Cast grille, stainless grille, which one or both?
Thank you for your time I look forward to future interaction on this website.
Sincerely,
Carl Urbaniak

Carl, according to the V-8 Club's 41-48 book the following information was found on page 2-5; The Super Deluxe grill and side grills were "rustless metal" or chrome plated. In the deluxe and special models the side grills were painted body color. I honestly have not seen a "rustless metal"(stainless steel) center grill. I have seen the stamped steel center grill with the Ford script and the diecast center grill with the Ford script. I have seen the stainles side grills, the diecast side grills and the stamped steel side grills.
There were a lot of things going on in 1941 with the looming war and Ford made many running changes.

Thank you, I found the same info in the same book. I feel pretty darn good about the cast & plated version being the only one that Ford offered.
We have some pretty sharp old Ford guys around here & they all confirm the caswt & plated grille.

Fords RULE!
Sincerely,
Cheatercarl
