What is the best source for photos and information on originality for my '39 V8 pickup? I would like to restore it as faithfully to the period as I can. Thanks!

Your chassis is the same as the 39 passenger car. A good source for this information would be the V-8 Club's 38-39 restoration manual. This book can be purchased from this site or you can order it through the ad in the V-8 Times.If you are not a V-8 Club member you should join. There's lots of good information in the magazine and we do have a technical advisor for pickups and commercial vehicles. As for the body you might have to buy three or four books as there is no book dedicated specifically to the 39 pickup. You might look at a book put out by Mack Hils(he makes new pickup beds)as he did a book on Ford pickups which included the 39.
