Topic: 1952 1953 1954 steering box?

My friend Oran in Spring Texas needs a good steering box for his '54 Victoria (standard, not power).

Does anyone know if the 1952 and 1953 and 1954 steering boxes are the same?

Is there a reputable parts source in the USA for the necessary genuine Ford parts to rebuild such a steering box, if that is the route which has to be taken?

As an alternative to genuine NOS Ford parts, are there high quality Made In USA jobber components available anywhere?

What about a competent trustworthy steering box rebuilder? Would there be one in Texas? Or anywhere else in the USA?

If you can help Oran directly, and are an EFV8 Club member in the Roster, please send me a PM and I will give you Oran's phone number.

Or you can reach me at flatheadfleming@hotmail.com and I will pass on any message you send to Oran.

Thanks very much.

Lares corporation rebuilds steering boxes and they advertise in the V-8 Times. I would call Joblot Automotive in New York to see if they have the NOS parts. Clyde Bangiola (club member and in the roster) does rebuild steering boxes and is familiar with the later boxes. He lives in Arizona.
