Topic: Headlight / horn fit

Thirt4    -- 02-22-2015 @ 10:11 PM
I am putting my 1934 Ford back together finally, however, now the horns and headlight buckets touch each other.
What did I do wrong? Henry had it right before I took it apart so apparently he knew what he was doing.
I have looked at the headlight stands and they are not bent and are not those "shorty" style. The horn brackets are straight as they were before.
Maybe I am missing a spacer or two? Or something else?
Thank you for all your help.

Of course you know they should fit, and with the parts you have. So I have to ask the obvious. Are the right and left horn brackets on the correct side? Did you remove the horn brackets from the horns and put them back in another set of holes? In other words, would rotating the horn on the bracket solve your problem? I am stabbing in the dark. It would help if you could send a picture of your interference with the mounting bolts loose.

It is possible to mount the headlight bar backwards. Don't ask how I know!

Well, humbly, I did not know that there was a right and wrong to putting the pieces back together. It is something for me to do tomorrow at the shop.
And this is a car so there is no headlight bar. That is what my 1934 Ford 1/2 ton had and it was so much easier on it.
Thank you.

As for a photo, it is all back apart again so at this point a photo will do no good. When they are back together again, and still not fitting (I hope not the case twice) then a photo will be taken.
Thank you.
