For transmission number is *I8-57028T4*, is this 1940 transmission? i will start to rebuilt this car so hope you guy can help me. Is this any chance i can find the owner for this car in US? who bought and ship to Vietnam?

That is a nice find and can be brought back to life.

Your transmission serial number is *I8-5702814* and this is in the range for a 40 Ford,

The 81A-6050A number is the part number of the head. This is the correct part number for a 1940 head.

The engine block appears to be either a 40 or 41. If the intake gasket is on the block, it would be a 40, if the raised area for the intake is cast iron, then it would be a 41 block.

The serial number of the car should be on the left frame rail between the front cross member and the front body mount. They are usually near the steering box mount.

I doubt that you will be able to find out who owned the car last in the US. The privacy laws prevent states from revealing that information.

What is the deal about the heads having an "A" on them?I have heard a lot of people bring this up when looking at 40 engines. My engine is blue in color with no "A" on the heads ,but has the 81A-6049A.
