Or you could try new school,NAPA SIL-GLYDE. Doesn't care what temperature it is. Good item to have in your tool box you can check out its many uses on line but speedometer cable is what I bought it for.

good old graphite............ you dont even have to pull the cable to use it. Disconnect from speedo head and the cable spreads it down the housing.

I'm with Bruce, graphite does not harden as it ages, like Lubriplate or white lithium grease. My wife's sewing machine was lubricated with white lithium grease from the factory. She did not use it for a couple of years and when she did, several parts broke, due to the hardened grease. We also saw the hard white grease on my son's 72 Cutlass door and window parts. Tom
