Thanks MG , lots of 40 + 42-48 locks but all FORD. Don't know if 41 Merc is same as FORD. The box is marked 41 Merc but you know it could be in the wrong box ?????? ken ct. Will check that # you gave me in the GB. May go to FL. for a couple of weeks to get away from all this snow + cold. Thanks again. Those are good web-sites for parts. My son will stay at the house while were gone.

The lock P/N is found in the Body Parts Catalog. The Mercury instrument panel is different from the Ford and I think that the glove box lock is different also. The Mercury lock is mounted on the instrument panel and the Ford lock is mounted in the door.

Thanks Tom I don't have the later body manual only the 36-38 one. ken ct.

The 1941 Body Parts List specifies Lock Assembly 19A-7006081-A for the Merc. The Ford lock is totally different as the Ford lock fits into a hole of the glove box door, while the Merc lock mounts in a hole of the dashboard itself.
And it appears this is a 1941 Merc only Lock Assembly, after examining the 1940 and 1942 Body Parts Lists.

Ken, there are not many 41 Mercurys left and the glove box lock is not a high priority replacement item. They seldom wear out and are easy to re-key if the trunk lock is replaced.

That is a part that E-Bay is designed for, you will get maximum exposure and it will be bid to its market value.
