Jiw1, Go to http://www.goldengatev8.org/tips.htm and scroll down to:
"Flathead Block Full Flow Oil Filter Modification White Paper"

That is interesting, but it seems that effort to install a "semi full filtering" system that doesn't serve the rear rods and main is hardly worth the time and cost of modification for lightly used old cars. It can't be done without full dis-assembly due to the likelihood of introducing drill and tap shavings into the oil system, in any case.

alen, thank you for the info to the websight,i did go to it and it ring a bell.some time ago a friend showed me a site that had pictured illustrations of step by step info.this one was a bit different,it showed drilling a hole in the oil pan and connecting tubing to the oil pump.have you ever heard of this one?i do think it came from the same v8 group.please inform me if you can.thank you, johnny

MCF (Motor City Flatheads) developed a kit which fed the oil from the pump out the side of the pan, through a filter, and then back into the block. This filters all the oil, including the rear main and rear rods.

Here is a link to a similar setup:

Downside is that MCF may not be still in business as
the owner was not doing well a few years ago.

Here's a link to the system that I have on one of my engines. It may be the one you're looking for. It uses the design that the Canadian flatheads had on their military engines and, I suspect, on others at the time.

You can still get the Motorcity flathead full flow oil system. Contact Phil Goller at 1-419-428-2271.

Here's a pic of what I have on my 8ba. It seems to work fine & I have around 18K mies on it. It's not really 100% because it doesn't filter the rear main oil, but it's better than nothing or 10% IMHO.

gentelmen, good morning and thank you all for your information.we hit the jack pot on the site offering full flow from the pump through the pan.this is the one i was looking for.although it does not say it services the rear rods and main but reading the discription of the one on ebay,(which is a simular verison)it say's 100% full flow including rear rods and maim bearings.it will be awhile before i get to this but i'll let you know how it turns out.thank you again, johnny

It seems to me that all you get from a full flow system is longer oil change intervals. Is that worth the expense and effort? The bypass filter extended the oil change from 1,000 to 2,000 miles. That's good enough for me.
