Topic: seats

I have purchased a 1935 Ford 5 Window Coupe. I knew the seat wasn't correct (I have been told it is a Model A seat), and now I am on the hunt for a correct seat.
If anyone has one or can at least give me some cues as to what is correct I would surely appreciate it. I have been told that the 1936 is not quite the same.
The biggest question I have is would the front seat from a Sedan work? Any help is appreciated.

The front seat from a sedan will not work. The main difference between a '35 and '36 seat is the backrest. The 36 seat has the "flip up" backrest so you can access the area behind the seat for storage. The '35 seat does not "flip up". There are a few other subtle differences in the tracks etc. Dimensionally the seats will interchange in the 5 window coupe. If you are not too concerned about being totally stock I would use the '36 seat in your '35. You might get lucky and find the correct seat, but they can be a challenge to find. Keep your eye out for someone building a streetrod as they generally remove the stock seat and replace it with a custom seat. I recently got a nice 5 window seat for a friend that came out of a streetrod. Had fairly recent mohair upholstery on it and the price was right. I suspect a decent seat with decent springs will run you $200-300 and maybe more.
