Topic: 1935 Ignition lock

I recently purchased a 1935 Ford Coupe. The ignition lock is pretty buggered up and works with a late model Chrysler key. The ON / Off switch is situated on top of the column and there is a starter button on the dash that is clearly not original.
My question is, should there be a starter button on the column near the lock / switch assembly or did the 35 use a floor mounted starter button?
Appreciate the help.

I believe that the 35 Ford still used the floor starter switch.

The ignition and steering wheel lock are mounted on the column drop, and the switch is also located on the drop.

The 35-36 Ford book is available on the home page of this site and at:

It contains a lot of useful information for the restoration of your car.

Thanks Tom, I'll pick up that resource.

Ditto on the book TomO referenced, it's been a terrific resource for me and my 35 coupe. And yes the 35 starter button was originally mounted on the frame protruding through the floor board.
